Our Girls Varsity 4 boat did it again...
Finishing #1 this past cold, stormy, and windy Saturday at their 2nd home, Lake Lenape, for LL Sprints lll-
Absegami Braves Girls Varsity 4 are genuine athletes and exemplary students, practicing for three plus hours every school day. Saturdays and Sundays are spent with their extended teammates from AM to PM @ Lake Lenape and Philadelphia's Schuylkill River competitively rowing- while supporting eachother in the process.
Regardless of the forecast- rain, shine, or cold winds- these girls give it their all on the water- practicing in frigid and uncomfortable temperatures...& if Coach Young & Coach Jay call that the water isint an option- then they are working out in Absegami's Erg Room- perfecting their technique and staying consistent in their stroke rate. They aren't competing against eachother, they are competing against themselves to be better than yesterday.
The erg room is a place they know well, Crew starts in the winter, but they row even in the Fall, too. It's not a Spring sport, its a lifestyle.
Congratulations M. Moeller, A. Reed, E. Figueroa, M. McDonnell & A. Macchione!
Go Braves!
Go Gami Row!
